Melbourne is a city that is full of life. People walk through it, but never bother to stop.
The morning freeze welcomed us at the Southern Cross station. the 11 hours journey on the train was actually comforting but i still find it restless to sleep on a moving thing.
The place that we stayed throughout the visit is actually situated at the very middle spot in the city. It was pure bliss. Everything is reachable. Halal Asian restaurants is just a few shops away, and the heavenly shopping centre is just at the very corner of the street. The only thing that I dont like about my visit to Melbourne is the weather. It's chilly. It's freezing my ass off. My kind of vacation? nah... I would love to stroll down Melbourne street with my favourite bohemian skirt, a thin blouse and a sunglasses, but hurrmmphh i would die of freezing then. i survived the coldness by wearing lots of t-shirt and winter jacket, and i still got a bleeding nose. *sigh*
If i could sum up our visit to Melbourne, I should say it as jalan-jalan cari makan. I think I spent most of my budget on food, and i know my stomach thanked me for that.

We did go to Great Ocean Road and i thank God that we chose the English tour instead of the Chinese tour, or we would be travelling clueless!~
The road starts at Torquay, short distance from Geelong. the route is flanked with beaches and small towns, and the famous one is Lorne (i think). The Great Ocean Road joins the coast at the Shipwreck Coast at Princetown just before Port Campbell and its famous and often photographed rock formations, The Twelve Apostles. There are eight huge stone pillars which stand majestically in the ocean, individually carved by the seas and winds.
As usual, loads of pictures were snapped and we did lots of pose for the cameras. Tasha and I have a very difficult and uncomfortable journey. We had headaches, nauseas and irritated by the people who sits behind us who doesn't allow us to lower our seats.
However, the $80 tour is worth it!
The highlight of our visit, [in my opinion is a bad memory for me while Durra thinks, it's the best thing on her visit to Melbourne] is when I could not make it to the tram, my sleeping bag fell on the street, the light is green but i kept on crossing the road, i was horned by two cars and when I just arrived, the tram's door closed and the tram dah jalan with Durra and her friends inside. uwwwaaaa!! ok! i'm all alone in i-dunno-whereabout-in-Melbourne [that night, Durra and I sleep and College Squares, and planning on meeting up the others at Melb. Uni.] Thank God i met with Nadia, she's waiting for the tram to fetch Tasha, Syada and Ana. So, I joined her instead. After that incident, I am not travelling with a sleeping bag ever!
While visiting Melbourne, I suddenly realised that living in a big city is not for me. It's not that I dont like Melbourne, I like it, erm.. I like visiting it not living in it. I prefer a more slow-not-rush life, where simple things are the joy of living, home-cooked meals, not take away meals, and quiet surroundings. hurm. that is what I thought and feel now. I might change my mind .... or I might not. who knows?
I would love to go to Melbourne again. Insya Allah kalau ade rezeki and kalau Allah izinkan. And I want to indulge the Belgian Waffle to my heart out! wee? *winks*
